You Have A Sleep Disorder
At the extreme end of the scale, the trouble might be that you have some kind of a sleeping disorder. In this case, you are probably going to be worried at first, but bear in mind that there are always solutions that you can look to if you want to try and get through it, depending on the type of disorder you are struggling from. That could be cpap for central sleep apnea, talking therapy for insomnia, or a whole host of other possible solutions. If you are concerned you have a sleeping disorder, visit your doctor or find a sleep clinic who can investigate your problem for you.
You Are Anxious
If you are prone to anxiety, you might find that this negatively affects your ability to sleep. It might even do so in such a way that you don’t really notice the connection at first, and that is particularly worrying as it means you then need to wade through a whole sea of thoughts before you can get to sleep. However, anxiety has solutions, and you should never feel as though it is in control of you or the situation. Sometimes therapy is all that is needed, sometimes a reduction in certain substances or even the introduction of some medication. Speak to your doctor about your anxiety if you are concerned that this is your central problem.
You Look At Screens Too Much
Many people still don’t know that screens are not good for sleep. But it’s true: the light in screens is inhibitive of the melanin that your brain produces in order to help you get off to sleep, and therefore can mean that you struggle to even sleep in the first place. If you are looking at screens during the evening, you might want to think about stopping, or cutting down a little at least. Even the settings on devices which apparently help this do not actually make that much of a difference, so it is best to do away with screens in the evening altogether.
