Hell week is coming, and you need to be prepared for it. You might think that no amount of preparation and nothing that you do will possibly prepare you for what is to come. And you would be right. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t do things to make this less stressful. You are not going to be able to plan for every possible issue, but we are going to give you some helpful advice, and if you follow it, you are going to be fine.

  1. Just Breathe

Remember to breathe. We know that this sounds obvious, but sometimes you get so stressed out and worked up, that you do forget to breathe. You need to try and keep calm as much as you can. We know that this is going to be difficult, even the name of the week says so, but if you manage to keep yourself calm for as long as possible, you are going to find all the work much easier to manage.

  1. Stop Going Out

The second thing that we are going to suggest is that you stop going out. It can be fun to dance the night away until all hours in the morning, but on hell week this is probably the worst thing that you could possibly do. You need to be giving yourself the time you need to do your assignments, not getting drunk at a bar. Obviously, you need the time to relax and chill out, but you should be doing this in your room, rather than in a club. Trust us, you are going to thank us for this one when hell week is over.

  1. Caffeine And Lots Of It

Next, you are going to need a lot of caffeine. You might not realize just how much work you are actually in for until it comes around, but it is going to be a lot. Imagine having a car racing towards you, and you not being able to move. You need the caffeine to give yourself the boost to jump out of the way, or in this case, finish your assignments. But, even though this is the case, it doesn’t have to be coffee. We know that some of you will have been reading that thinking ‘I don’t like coffee’, so you can always try energy drinks. Just make sure that you don’t have too many, or you will find yourself with a Will from The Inbetweeners situation on your hands.

  1. Money Run Out?

Due to the time that hell week rolls around, you might have already run out of money. This is not something that you want to be stressing about when you are already overloaded. As such, you need to think about getting quick loans online so that you know you have enough money to last you, at least until the end of hell week. Worrying about everything else can wait until all of your assignments are done, and this is a great way to make sure that money isn’t distracting you through the long nights.

  1. Do You Need An Extension?

You might need to apply for an extension, and if this is the case, you need to check the guidelines on when the latest to apply for one is. These can make hell week a lot more manageable, but you need to have a genuine reason for this, usually backed up by a doctors note of some sort. If you don’t have this, then you are likely not going to be granted an extension. You need to consider this well ahead of time to make sure that you are leaving yourself all the time that you need.

  1. It’s Your Party, You Cry If You Want To

Finally, you are going to want to cry, a lot. Let this out, don’t be afraid of it or you will be bottling it up, and it will only get worse. The emotions of hell week can become too much, and you need to make sure that you are dealing with it the best way you can. If this means that you need to have a good cry every couple of hours, then you do this!
