Grammy 2011 Recap: The Big Winners, Favorite Moments, Best & Worst Performances

This years Grammys proved to be exciting, powerful, and more than entertaining. Let’s take a quick look at the shows greatest moments.

This years show opened with some of the industries most powerful female voices and ended with one of the most exciting bands to hit the stage. In between may have given us a few rough moments, but overall it was definitely an awards show to remember.

My two favorite moments of the night? Christina Aguilera NOT messing up the words during the Areatha Franklin tribute and Seth Rogan’s funny, yet mildly inappropriate joke about him and Miley Cyrus smoking weed.

Best Performances of the Night:

Lady Gaga, Lady Antebellum, Cee Lo Green & Gwenyth Paltrow, Mumford and Sons, Norah Jones, John Mayer, and Keith Urban, Mick Jagger, and Eminem.

Worst Performances of the Night:

Miranda Lambert, Muse, Janelle Monae, the Avaett Brothers, Justin Bieber, and Arcade Fire.

The big winner of the night? Hands down, was Lady Antebellum, taking home three awards for Best Country Album, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.

The Album of the Year award was a bit of a surprise – going to Arcade Fire instead of what I predicted would go to Eminem. However, Eminem did not go empty handed either and won the Grammy for Best Rap Album.

My favorite Grammy moment?

Cee Lo Green and Gwenyth Paltrow singing “The Song Otherwise Known as ‘Forget You’” in front of what looked like what my friend called “Seasame Street.” They both sounded and looked fantastic (with Cee Lo channeling his inner Elton John) and gave America a performance to remember.

While his performance was amazing, his costume was a sight to see!
