Sleeping With Makeup On? Why You Should Remove Makeup Before Going to Bed

Ever go to bed with your face painted?

Ladies, you might have had a long day and an even longer night. So by the time you’re ready to hit the hay, taking off you’re makeup is probably the last thing on you’re mind. It’s easy to feel lazy after a night of partying, but you should always make a point of washing your face, no matter how tired or dazed you are.

While you’re counting sheep, bacteria is hard at work eating away at your face. Not washing away all that plastered paint just makes your skin weak.

Your skin needs to breath!

It’s imperative that you wash your face before going to bed.

As you’re sleeping, your skin is working to regenerate fresh new skin cells to keep your face looking healthy. Leaving makeup on only makes it harder to do so.

But it’s SO late!

I know, I know; it can be such a task to drag yourself to the bathroom to wash your face when you’re tired, but not doing so ages your skin.

Not only is your face covered in makeup, but it’s also full of dirt and grime it’s been collecting throughout the day.

Don’t forget the eyelashes.

Not only does bacteria feed on your skin, but they also feast on your eyelashes. It’s vital to remove the mascara as well. If not, your eyelashes can dry out, making them brittle and more susceptible to breakage.

How to wash makeup off your face:

Don’t jump into washing your face quite yet.

First, remove the makeup. Try using something gentle on your skin like exfoliating towelettes. Using rough towels can damage your skin.

Next, cleanse and rinse your face off. Pat your skin dry because, again, rubbing your face with a towel too hard, can damage your skin.

You can try using a facial mask after cleansing. This will help rejuvenate your skin.

Lastly, moisturize your skin.

Sounds like a lot?

If it’s late at night, it probably is. But if you can’t muster up enough strength to wash your face before going to bed, the least your can do is remove the makeup. Using baby wipes or similar products can easily remove that gunk.

Oh, and don’t forget to drink plenty of water. This will keep you and your skin hydrated and looking fresh!
