No one likes sitting home alone on the weekends with nothing to do, but you’re tired of the party scene and need something else.
Thankfully, there are a few movies coming out this weekend to get you out of the house.
So, instead of sitting on your couch watching reruns of The Daily Show, head out to the theater with friends, a date or yourself and check out what’s playing.
Here’s a look at two movies coming out this Friday:
1. Red Riding Hood
WARNING: This is not the childhood fable we all grew up with. This is the creepier, darker, more Twilight-esqe version of a timeless bedtime story.
Red Riding Hood stars Amanda Seyfried, Garry Oldman, Billy Burke, Shiloh Fernandez, Max Irons, and Julie Christie. It is directed by Twilight director, Catherine Hardwick (what is it with her and warewolves?!).
Synopsis:
Valerie is a young girl faced with a tough choice: she must choose between Henry and Peter. Henry is rich and her parents are pushing her to marry him; however, Valerie is quite in love with Peter and she is determined to run away with him.
Sadly, right before she is supposed to run away with Peter, Valerie’s sister is attacked and killed by a warewolf. When it is discovered that the warewolf is a human by day, Valerie begins to wonder if the warewolf is someone close to her.
Battle: Los Angeles
Battle: Los Angeles seems like this decade’s own version of War of the Worlds, just without a cute blonde child and Tom Cruise. For all you sci-fi junkies out there, Battle: Los Angeles is for you.
The film stars Aaron Eckhart, Michelle Rodriguez, Ramon Rodriguez, Bridget Moynihan, Ne-Yo, and Michael Pena; it is directed by Jonathan Liebsman.
Synopsis:
For many years, the world has been subject to many debatable UFO sightings. Now what were once considered delusions have become reality when the Earth is suddenly attacked by unidentifiable machines. Los Angeles then becomes Armeggedon.
It’s now up to a Marine and his platoon to defeat the machines and rescue the world.
