People almost always are split into “Team Tea” or “Team Coffee.” The latter tends to be every college student’s stereotypical drink of choice. But which is better?
COFFEE
– Black coffee is shown to decrease the risk of diabetes.
-Coffee is a stimulant which can keep you awake–always a benefit for college students!
-Daily cups of coffee have been linked to a reduced risk of Parkinson’s disease, liver cancer, and gallstones.
– Coffee suppresses your appetite which may result in not eating.
-Coffee increases short term recall.
TEA
–Prevents Parkinson’s disease.
-Help fight against Osteoporosis.
-Tea has antioxidants that prevent cavities and unlike coffee, tea doesn’t stain your teeth.
-Helps speed up your metabolism which causes you to burn fat faster and thus, helps you to lose weight more rapidly.
-Helps to relax your arteries and lowers your blood pressure.
-Tea helps you prevent kidney stones
Overall, TEA is the clear winner health-wise! However, if it’s the night before an exam or a morning where you need an instant pick-me-up, coffee should do the trick!
Remember, when drinking coffee, don’t drink more than 4 cups per day!
