SSC CGL Examination: Selection Process and Result calculation

Tier-I Examination

The total time allotted by the commission for the whole examination is 1 hour. This exam will be conducted online on a computer, and objective questions are asked in which multiple-choice options are present. Thus, it can be considered that one hour for 100 questions is enough time.

The candidates, who score more than the cutoff of a particular year in the Tier- I are qualified for the Tier-II examination. As a candidate, it will be better if you secure an excellent score as it can affect positively in your final SSC CGL result.

Tier-II Examination

The Tier-II is the most important level of the SSC CGL examination as it mainly determines the fate of the applicants who are opting for different posts. Applicants to give four examinations for each section included in the tier. Different sections that are included in the examination are English Comprehension, Quantitive Aptitude, General Studies and Statistics. Both Paper I and II are mandatory for all candidates who are appearing for the SSC CGL examination. In the case of SSC CGL result, the marks secured in these two papers will play the primary determining role.

The applicants who have chosen the stream of audit/accounting, have to give the paper IV examination along with papers I and II.

If the applicant applies for the post of Junior Statistical Officer, he has to give the examination of paper III along with the mandatory ones.

The applicants who desire to be AAOs and Statistical Investigators have to give all the four papers of the Tier-II Examination mandatorily.

Tier- III Examination

The Tier III Examination is now made complementary with the tier II. All candidates who pass the tier I Examination can appear for both tier II and III Examinations. However, the answer scripts of tier III will not be checked for the candidates who fail to score the minimum qualifying marks in the Tier II Examination. Tier- IV Examination
