The frigid winds mellow out into calm breezes. The shorts and flip-flops come out. People seem happier overall.
Sure, we’re still in school, and still have to worry about work and exams and whatnot, but everything is better when it starts to warm up and we enter the last stretch of school in the glorious brightness and happiness of Spring.
Here are a couple of tips to help you take advantage of the great weather coming up so you can enjoy your last semester, rather than dread the work that comes along with it.
Bask in the glory.
Just being out in the sun is actually healthy.
Human beings cannot produce Vitamin D on their own and need to obtain it from either the sun or supplements.
15 minutes of sunlight exposure is all it takes for productive vitamin D creation to occur.
During the cold, dreary months of winter, many suffer from SAD, or Seasonal Affective Disorder, a type of depression from lack of light. Go out sunbathing, study outside, or perhaps even just walk outside more often.
Get back into shape.
Pretty much everyone adds on some extra unwanted weight during winter.
Perhaps the excuse of not wanting to have to go to all the way to the gym was justifiable then, but there are no excuses now that the weather is nice.
Gather up some friends from the floor and play a sport every now and then. From manhunt to football, to nerf gun battles across campus, the possibilities are limitless.
Try posting up on commons bulletins to arrange games or even leagues to play games at set times and places.
Enjoy the Outdoors.
Why not enjoy what nature has given us? Being outdoors can be very relaxing, and it is often an escape from the atmosphere of work and stress.
Sit out in the woods, or out by a lake. Perhaps fish or hike a little bit. Many student groups like to do retreats, a fun escape from campus into wilderness to bond and enjoy themselves without worrying about school.
Just soak in the surroundings and enjoy the company of some buddies.
Last but not least, just relax.
There isn’t any point in being high strung anymore. You’re almost at the end of the year.
Feel free to kick back every now and then, and settle your mind. Make a hammock out of paracord and a bedsheet, or just go for a drive with the windows down (if you have access to a car).
You only get to live once, so enjoy the good days of college.
