Something you don’t often hear every day:
While many families have routines and habits that they share, one uncommon occurrence is a mother and daughter graduating college at the same time. This is exactly the case with Andrea Thomas and Tierra Kendrick of Tennessee.
Andrea, 21, is all set to graduate with a bachelor’s degree from Middle Tennessee State in May while her mother Tierra, 42, will receive her degree in criminal justice from LeMoyne-Owen College.
Says Thomas of her mother:
She is a survivor and a great example for her girls. She didn’t give up. She isn’t a quitter. That is what she has always taught us. Although times have been hard, she has always pushed through.
